What to bring and not to bring to MYPATH
BRING:
• Your yoga mat and accessories like bolsters and blocks, if you have them
• Extra blankets! For sitting on the grass or under your mat, and for cool nights
• Comfortable clothing for workshops and relaxation times. The group dinner and music entertainment on Saturday night is a time to get out of those yoga pants and into some party clothes if you feel like it, but there's no dress code here! Bring layers since temps can change a lot in a day.
• Comfortable shoes to walk around the farm in. In case of rain, bring rain gear, an umbrella, and your feet will thank you for waterproof boots
• Insect repellent
• Sunscreen
• Water bottles or your favorite travel mug. There are several hydrants located throughout the venue where you can keep them filled; it's also helpful to bring your own mug for cacao and tea ceremonies.
• Warm clothes for possible cool nights
• Camping gear: tent, tarp, sleeping bag, pillow, extra blankets, chairs, flashlight - whatever you normally camp with
• There will be food vendors on site with healthy food, but if you choose to bring your own food to cook you are welcome to do so. Small personal campfires are allowed (there will also be a large community bonfire each night)
• Towels and toilet items; there are hot showers located in the venue, as well as flush toilets (extra towels are a good idea to cover a hot mat or in case we do rainy day yoga)
• Journals, notebooks, pens for journaling and creative writing workshops or just recording thoughts or dreams
• Musical instruments for Open Mic on Friday night, or for anytime; drums and noisemakers for drum circles around campfires
• Phone or watch to keep you on time for each class or activity (there is a gong to announce 5 minutes before each class)
• Camera
• Eye pillows, ear plugs - if needed for a more restful sleep
• Positive energy, openness to try new things and meet new people, the expectation to have an AMAZING weekend!
DON'T BRING:
• Valuables, things you don't want to get dirty or lost
• Electronic devices except for phones. Cell reception at the farm is spotty, but most work on top of the hill. Internet service is available only at the farm owners' residence and only for emergencies.
• Fears, worries, or stress. If you forget and bring some anyway we'll be happy to help you dispose of them!
Dog Policy: We strongly discourage bringing your dog to this event. Having your pet with you can be nice, but it can also be a distraction from focusing on yourself. Our furry friends can also be a huge distraction for others. Many of the classes involve quiet meditation or moments requiring strong focus, and dogs walking through the class area or barking in the distance subtract from the experience. If you absolutely have nowhere you can leave your pet for the weekend, we will allow you to bring it, but it must be tied, penned, or on a leash with you, during all class times. It must also get along well with other dogs, as there are several that live on the property. We absolutely love dogs too, and we thank you for understanding that it's necessary to make this policy. Of course all service animals are allowed but we do request that they are leashed during classes.
Kid Policy: Children 14 and under are free and are welcome. Please keep in mind this is a farm with inherent dangers; young children should be supervised at all times. There is a playground , plus woods and creeks to play in, however parents should be mindful when nearby classes are experiencing quiet times. Children over 14 are expected to pay admission and a parent needs to sign a waiver on their behalf.
Leave No Trace: Be sure to clean up all campsites before you leave and dispose of trash and recyclables in bins provided by the venue. Any campfires made in grassy areas should be cleaned up; unburned wood and rocks can be tossed into the woods. Be a kind camper and leave the farm better than you found it!
